– You have absolutely everything in one (big) place!

With the pandemic in the rear-view mirror (fingers crossed), summer 2022 is the time to fly off abroad.

But after several years of standing still, you might need a little outside help. Because where do you eat the tastiest food in Marbella, which places should you visit on the French Riviera and where is the coolest place to hang out in Ibiza?

In this series, Melk & Honning talks to influencers, fashion people and celebrities to get their very best tips.

In this week’s travel guide we’ve had a chat with Annabel Rosendahl and Nathalie Helgerud about Marbella.

Annabel Rosendahl: – The best thing has to be how much they love children

The Norwegian influencer has just under 200k followers on Instagram. Rosendahl has previously worked as, among other things, a buyer at Høyer.

– It’s my first time here, but I like what I’ve seen so far. We’re here with our 2-year-old son, and the best thing has to be how much they love children, so it’s no problem taking him around to restaurants/cafés, Annabel Rosendahl tells Melk.

– And there’s a very relaxed, calm atmosphere, at least where we’re staying. There’s a lovely beach promenade from Marbella to Puerto Banus that’s perfect for us with a pram. We stroll along it to restaurants in the evening when he’s asleep.

Rosendahl says they are staying at a hotel called Boho Club.

– A fantastic place! It’s a small boutique resort with big outdoor areas with lawns, plants and little houses. A gorgeous restaurant with a DJ in the evenings, but otherwise the atmosphere is very calm.

According to her, she got lots of good tips from friends and acquaintances beforehand, so she has booked places to eat based on those.

– The favourite so far has to be the cosy Il Patio. The evening we had with the sunset at Sea Grill was also magical.

– New Thai Pan had fantastic Asian food and the nicest owner! I’m also planning to check out Serafina, which I’ve heard has gorgeous Italian food.

Rosendahl says her first trip to Marbella makes her want to come back.

Nathalie Helgerud: – The reason I love Marbella is that you have absolutely everything in one (big) place

Someone who knows Marbella inside out is Nathalie Helgerud. The fashion writer and content creator for ELLE Norway has been there many times.

– The reason I love Marbella is that you have absolutely everything in one (big) place.

– Beach clubs with a chilled vibe or a real party. Authentic Spanish food and good wine at normal Spanish prices. Good shopping, super nice beaches and day-trip options to, for example, Cadiz, Tarifa and Malaga, Helgerud explains to Melk & Honning.

She thinks a trip to the old town is a must.

– Wander around the shops and enjoy the beautiful Orange Square, before having a nice dinner.

– My favourite restaurant is by the big church in town and is called Maruja Limoon. Super tasty food and lots of good Spanish red wines! It’s also very cosy and authentic to sit there and enjoy a nice dinner.

– If you love tapas, I can recommend the bodega Albero. It’s on a little side street with several gorgeous tapas restaurants side by side.

When it comes to beach clubs and lovely beaches, Helgerud also has good tips.

– Trocadero Arena Rio Real is so beautiful you’ll want to get married there, and it’s perfect both during the day and in the evening.

– Nosso Beach Club for lunch and Playa Padre for both lunch and sunbathing. The latter also turns into quite a party later on. El Chiringuito Puento Romano is fancy, but has a really good vibe. Here you can sunbathe and have lunch and dinner. The sunset is extra beautiful here!

– Two other favourites are Plage Casanis, which has super tasty food and a very chilled vibe, and Cocoa Beach Cabo Pino. The latter may be my favourite right now; a little undiscovered oasis of a beach with good food and a pleasant atmosphere).

She also recommends the bistro Lêna at the fashionable Puento Romano.

– A food experience without equal!

– El Patio, the newly renovated restaurant at the Marbella Club Hotel, is perfect if you love interiors. We’re talking interior heaven! It works for both lunch and dinner. Chanel also has its own pop-up shop here.

Helgerud also suggests a trip to the market held in Puerto Banus every Saturday.

– It’s completely impossible to leave empty-handed.

When it comes to breakfast, she’s a fan of eating good, healthy and fresh breakfasts down there.

– Check out Celisioso, Ground, Organic Market & Food and Manuka.
