Denmark’s Ganni and Lululemon are releasing an 80s-inspired activewear collection on Thursday 15 October. Here are the pieces and the prices.

Danish Ganni and Canadian Lululemon have created an activewear collection together, and it arrives on Thursday 15 October. The inspiration is 80s dance films – and to make that crystal clear, Jennifer Beals, the star of “Flashdance”, appears in the campaign.

According to Lululemon, the collection consists of 22 women’s pieces, accessories and shoes. It will be sold on lululemon.com and ganni.com and in selected stores from both brands in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

Leopard, ruffles and leg warmers

This is Ganni as we know the brand, just in performance fabric. Lululemon’s bestselling Define jacket has been given Ganni ruffles, and according to Vogue Scandinavia you’ll also find leopard leggings, leg warmers, boleros, headbands, a grey tracksuit and an off-the-shoulder jumper. The pieces are made in Lululemon’s Nulu and Softstreme fabrics.

“Dance films from the 80s have been part of my life since I was a child, so they felt like a completely natural starting point.”

– Ditte Reffstrup, creative director at Ganni

The campaign is called “Joy Is a Power Move” and also features the American singer and dancer Mette, who tells Vogue Scandinavia that the project “wonderfully tied together so many threads from my life”. Jonathan Cheung, global creative director at Lululemon, sums up the technical starting point more briefly: “Everything comes from movement.” According to him, the point is to combine Lululemon’s technical materials with Ganni’s aesthetic.

The collaboration comes just a couple of weeks after Ganni showed its spring 2027 collection in Paris, where Vogue Scandinavia singled out the brand’s nostalgic presentation as one of the Scandinavian highlights of fashion week.

The prices

Norwegian prices are not yet known. In the US, the pieces cost between 100 and 250 dollars, according to The Zoe Report.

The collaboration taps into something we’ve seen all autumn: activewear has moved out of the gym. Leg warmers over jeans, a bolero over a dress and leopard leggings under a long skirt are no longer Instagram styling tricks, but something you see on the street. The leopard leggings are the piece we think will sell out first.

The brands haven’t said which European stores will carry the collection. If you want to be sure of getting hold of it, Ganni’s and Lululemon’s online stores are the places to watch on Thursday.
