Pia Tjelta joins the second season of the Sky thriller in which Eddie Redmayne plays an assassin who keeps changing his disguise. Her role has not yet been revealed.

It was The Hollywood Reporter that first broke the news on Thursday, and Tjelta has confirmed it herself to VG.

The series is a new take on Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 thriller classic. No Sky original series has had a bigger launch than the first season, which according to The Hollywood Reporter drew three million viewers in its first week. It has a rating of 8.1 on IMDb, and Norwegian viewers can find it on SkyShowtime under the name “Sjakalen”.

In season two, Tjelta is joined by Matt Bomer, Pablo Schreiber and Weruche Opia, among others. The premiere is set for spring 2027.

From “Harry Hole” to “Grønne Fingre”

This year, Netflix viewers have seen Tjelta as Rakel Fauke in “Jo Nesbø’s Harry Hole”, with Tobias Santelmann in the title role and Joel Kinnaman in the cast. For Nina Knag’s “Se meg” (Loveable), she has also won acting awards both in Karlovy Vary and at this year’s Amanda Awards.

Next year, it’ll be mother and daughter on screen. In the NRK drama “Grønne Fingre” (Green Fingers), she plays a gardener who is forced into a criminal network to save her child. Her daughter Sofia Tjelta plays the child.
