The perfumes we want to wear this autumn

From warm vanilla to juicy fruit and dark woody notes: here are eight scents that tempt as the temperature drops. Two of them are unisex, and just as worth sharing.

Perfume is perhaps the easiest way to change seasons. The light summer scents can still keep their place on the bathroom shelf, but now warmer and more enveloping compositions are calling too.

This autumn’s selection ranges from Max Mara’s very first perfume to a new interpretation of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle. At the same time, Kirkè Overdose and Mystic Moonlight remind us that a good scent doesn’t need to fit into the “for her” or “for him” category.

BOSS Bottled Beyond for Her

BOSS has brought the Bottled name into the women’s wardrobe. Beyond for Her sets blooming peony against the sweetness of maple syrup and the warmth of amber-like woody notes.

It’s an interesting combination: feminine without being timid, sweet without leaning fully into dessert. A scent for those who like floral perfumes but want more depth when autumn arrives.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu

Coco Mademoiselle has been given a new, fruitier opening. Crush Absolu begins with lychee and grapefruit before rose, jasmine and the signature patchouli take over. Amber gives the scent a warmer finish.

What we get is a recognisable Chanel, but with a more playful first impression. A great candidate for anyone who already loves Coco Mademoiselle and wants to try another side of it.

Tiziana Terenzi Kirkè Overdose

Kirkè Overdose is a unisex fragrance, and not a discreet “skin scent”. Here, juicy fruit, flowers and a warm, rich base meet in a perfume that wants to take up space. This niche fragrance is perhaps the one I’ve received the most compliments for ever!

It was launched in 2025, but has much of the intensity many look for as the evenings grow darker. And even though the fruity notes can give a sweet first impression, this is not a scent that has to be reserved for her. Try it on your skin before you decide – it’s hard to judge from the notes alone.

Max Mara Le Parfum

If a Max Mara coat could become a perfume, it might smell like Le Parfum. The fashion house’s first fragrance is inspired by the iconic 101801 coat and combines creamy tuberose with vanilla and soft woody notes. Florence Pugh is the face of the launch.

It’s not the loudest perfume of the autumn. That’s rather the point: Le Parfum feels like a well-chosen outer layer. Elegant, warm and easy to keep coming back to.

Burberry Goddess Amber Vanilla Eau de Parfum Intense

Burberry goes even deeper into vanilla with this new Goddess variant. Lavender and a hint of maple syrup open the scent, before caramelised, toasted vanilla meets amber in the base.

If you already like Goddess, this is a darker and more enveloping interpretation. It’s especially fitting now that the knitted jumper and autumn coat are finally back.

Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid

Gucci shows that vanilla doesn’t always have to be heavy. In Flora Gorgeous Orchid, vanilla orchid meets a fresh, ozonic accord that gives the floral sweetness more air.

The fragrance came out in 2024, but is still a good choice for the transition between summer and autumn, especially for those who want something softer and lighter than the season’s darkest vanilla perfumes.

Now on promotion for NOK 1,106 HERE (Adlink)

Atkinsons Mystic Moonlight

Mystic Moonlight is also unisex. Atkinsons combines tropical fruit, coconut and ginger with darker woody notes and a warm base that includes tonka bean.

It’s a scent with both warmth and contrast: it opens almost like a memory of summer, before turning more mysterious on the skin. And perhaps this is the scent on the list that’s easiest to picture on two different bathroom shelves – or on a shared one.

This niche fragrance, which we haven’t forgotten since we first smelled it, costs NOK 3,175 and you’ll find it HERE (Adlink)

Guerlain L’Heure Bleue Eau de Parfum

Guerlain brings back one of its great classics and gives it new life. The new L’Heure Bleue is inspired by “the blue hour”, the moment when daylight disappears and the sky turns deep blue.

Perfumer Delphine Jelk has preserved the connection to the original 1912 fragrance, but given the composition a lighter and more modern expression. An airy, ozonic accord opens the scent, before velvety iris meets jasmine. Vanilla, ambroxan and musk provide a warm and enveloping finish.

We get a perfume that feels both clean, powdery and sensual – a bit like a fresh autumn breeze wrapped in soft vanilla. The bottle has been given a deep blue colour gradient and can be refilled, in line with Guerlain’s new refillable format.

The perfume is on launch promotion for NOK 1,601 HERE (Adlink)

Eight scents, but no reason to choose by gender or season alone. The best autumn perfume is the one you want to spray on again the next morning!
